ecoPOWER 900's installed at Bayside

The Bayside project installed 8 new EP900's units. The project called for installation of a suitable ventilation system for a plasterboard (drywall) fabrication facility and warehouse – Bayside Plasterboard. The owner of the facility wanted to remove heat but wanted to use mechanical ventilation. EP900 offered him the flow rates required but at lowest overall discounted cost over 5 yrs including cost of energy. Picture above shows the ecoPOWER units installed on the warehouse building

Design flow rate for the EP900 is 5886 CFM (10,000 CM/HR) at power usage of 190 watts in lab and 180 revs per minute. Power usage in the field is expected to be closer to about 160-170 watts with normal wind support. Weight of unit is 77 lbs (35kg).

Australia school system expands ecoPower

Using a very energy efficient Hybrid vent (ecoPOWER®) with low noise output (less than 50dBA) ducted to a ceiling and operating under dual thermostat control it has been possible to reduce room temperatures by 7 degF (4 degrees C) compared with traditional vent systems. Temperatures 15 degF (7-8 degrees C) below ambient have been recorded when ambient temperatures approached 104 degF (40 degrees C).

The EP600 and EP900 are ideal for larger rooms such as staff rooms, assembly halls and gymnasiums. For the assembly halls, power activation can be provided when full assemblies are present to meet AS1668.2 code for contaminant control.

CSR Edmonds Test Facility Understanding Ventilation Behavior

CSR Edmonds has undertaken considerable research within its own testing facilites and live monitoring of test cases in the field. The work has now proceeded for four years and with objectives as follows:

1) To determine optimal systems for cooling using energy efficient ventilation systems.

2) To determine cost effective levels of air exchange rate.

While most work was carried out in test facilites and homes, it was felt that a better understanding of the mechanisms involved would assist the design of energy efficient ventilation systems for school classrooms and commercial projects. The results of the efforts have paid dividends and were incorporated into the design of ecoPower systems.
